SEVENTY/ wrapped up in plaid

This past little while has been extremely low key for me. When it wasn't storming outside or when I had the energy to actually get my sick self out of bed - I spent my time roaming around the city buying gifts for my loved ones, visiting friends I haven't seen in awhile or wrapping gifts. Everything is coming together for the holiday season and my energy is (almost) back at 100%. I can't wait for the holidays to be in full swing; it's always my favourite time of the year!

I bought this plaid blazer at the thrift store not too long ago. Admittedly, it is a bit big for me but I am in love with the pattern and colours. I paired the blazer with a faux fur stole and my Louis Vuitton to that extra bit of class to the look. The red and green in this plaid are absolutely stunning and I think it'll be the perfect piece to wear on Christmas Day.

Merry Christmas to all of my friends, followers and family that celebrate it and I hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year! xo

SIXTY-NINE/ the muses of marc jacobs

Every morning when I wake up, I immediately check my Instagram. What can I say? I'm a creature of habit. This morning I was elated to see pictures of the Louis Vuitton SS14 campaign, featuring the "muses of Marc Jacobs", uploaded onto Louis Vuitton's official account.

The pictures simply took my breath away
.

I, like most people who follow fashion, was heartbroken when Marc Jacobs announced his departure from the iconic brand. I personally think that he is a creative genius and of course news like this does come with a bit of a silver lining; I'm excited to see his energy based mostly on his own brand and I'm interested in seeing what the new creative director for Louis Vuitton will dream up.

His work with the Louis Vuitton brand will surely go down in fashion history. Let's all take a look and admire the final collection. *cue tears*

SIXTY-SIX/ birthday and christmas lust list

This is a bit of a lust list for my birthday (December 16th - mark your calenders!) and Christmas. I just want to make it clear to all my close family and friends - I'm not begging for you to get me these items. All I want from you guys is to see you on or around my birthday and to maybe split a bottle of wine and a wheel of brie around Christmas time - okay? I'm just nosy and I LOVE seeing other blogger's wishlists, so I thought I should join in on the fun and make one of my own. I added the links to buy the items if you're interested in buying them for yourself or gifting them to a loved one.

FIFTY-EIGHT/ if i had a million dollars

It's no secret that I obsess over designer items, it's honestly like an addiction to me. I scroll through countless online shops and browse through tons of brick and mortar stores looking at amazing pieces that I'll never be able to afford - I don't know why I torture myself. Some people like to go to museums and look at the unbelievable art there, I prefer high end stores. I'm weird like that.

So far I've acquired some of my dream pieces, but the problem with fashion is that styles change every season. I've just been sticking with secondhand classic pieces that won't ever go out of style; it's more practical and wallet friendly. But of course every few months something new comes out that totally sweeps me off my feet and makes me look at my bank account and cringe. I keep telling myself that someday it'll happen, and I hope that someday comes soon. Sometimes I feel as though I'm far too materialistic for my own good...

ANYWAY, here are some pieces that I'm currently dying over from current collections, classic collections and past collections. They are mostly footwear, scarves or handbags seeing as the vast majority of designers do not make clothing in my size, not to mention the fact that I crave accessories.

Some of these items are obtainable, like the Michael Kors watch and the Kate Spade bangle, and some of them will probably torment me for the rest of my life, like the Chanel bag.

* I could have easily made this into a post about the designer handbags I want, but I decided to hold off on that. Another post for another day, possibly. I only added the three handbags I've been lusting after for what seems like forever. | All thoughts are my own, this post is no way sponsored by any of the mentioned retailers. | All images are referenced back to their original sources.

STYLE ICON SATURDAY/ twelve

MARC JACOBS

I have a very weird relationship with his brands. It's something like an obsession, it's almost a sickness. I fantasize daily about Marc by Marc Jacobs accessories and Marc Jacobs ready-to-wear pieces. My undying love for this man's work is definitely no secret.

I have watched the Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2013 RTW show about a dozen times and I'm still blown away by it. Monochromatic looks and stripes hold a very special place in my heart, and in my opinion no one does those looks better than Marc Jacobs.

I am always lusting over certain pieces from his lines. Right now it's the MBMJ clear cross body bag, tomorrow it may be something different all together. I fear that one day I will just turn into a giant walking advertisement for his brands, but I really can't help it. It's like an addiction, really. I haven't put my finger on what exactly it is about it all, but everything he does is just so visually appealing to me. My interest right now is mostly focused on Marc by Marc Jacobs and that's mainly because the prices are more within my reach. I hope to one day say that about his main brand, and I would die to have a piece from his work with Louis Vuitton.

I am fortunate enough to own a few items from MBMJ and his main line. I did buy them all secondhand but they are all authentic and I love that I got them all for a fraction of the cost. My favourite pieces that I own are the black leather clutch and the royal blue Natasha Q bag. I do wear my black MBMJ bag more often than not though, it's just so big and it holds everything.
