EIGHTY-SEVEN/ instagram update (a farewell to summer)

It's unreal to me how quickly this past summer just flew by and I was floored when I looked at the calender this morning and saw that it was already September 21st. Summer 2014 was filled with a bunch of highs and lows for me and of course I documented most of it through my Instagram account. Here's a bit of a recap of what I've been up to these past couple of months:

SEVENTY-TWO/ instagram four

A lot has happened within the past month. I chopped off all my hair, I turned twenty-two, Christmas and New Years came and went and my brother returned home for a week long visit. A lot of boring things happened within this past month too. I went for coffees, I read some books, I got some new lipsticks and I hung out with my best friend (aka my cat). Of course all of these exciting moments - and more! - were documented on my Instagram. (rosiexwaugh - if you wish to follow!)

FIFTY-NINE/ instagram three

My iPhone 4 kicked the bucket a month and a half ago. I was devastated, like any reasonable person would be. After an awful few weeks, I decided to bite the bullet and just get a new phone. Anyone who has been in this situation before (likely all of you) knows how difficult that can be - ESPECIALLY when you have time left on your contract. I decided to end my relationship with Rogers and make the switch to Fido (same company essentially, I know) and I haven't looked back since. I currently own a shiny new black iPhone 5 and I admit I hated it at first. There's no weight to it so when I put it in my pocket I'm constantly checking to see if it has fallen out, the battery life is awful... but those are all things I've gotten used to. I'm so in love with it now, I couldn't imagine life without it.

Of course I was deprived of texting those few weeks I went without a phone, but honestly I probably missed Instagram the most. That sounds so messed up, but it's true. The camera on my new phone, as well as the screen, is about a million times better than my old one so I'm sitting on cloud nine over here.

Here's a bit of an Instagram update of my not so hectic life as of lately.

FORTY-EIGHT/ instagram three

This summer has been too hot and humid for me to actually care what I look like. My outfits have lacked any imagination lately and I've been dressing in minimal clothing just so I don't sweat to death. My life has also been exceptionally boring as well but I'm making an honest effort to change that. I'm sick of doing the same things over and over again and I'm going to try to document at least some of the changes in my routine here on my blog as well as on my Tumblr. The weather has been letting up a little bit and I promise to do at least one outfit post later this week. Here's an Instagram update until then:

FORTY-ONE/ instagram two

My life via Instagram

If it isn't already common knowledge by now, I'm going to get you all up to speed - I'm addicted to Instagram. I did a post about it a few months back when I first got my iPhone but the obsession has just grown over time. I never thought I'd be one of those people, but here we are. So here's my past month and a bit via Instagram pictures. My life is speeding up a bit since the weather is warmer and most of my friends are off school. Basically, I'm not trapped at home anymore! Yay! I saw my love Rihanna last week, which was nothing short of amazing, I saw Billy Talent a few weeks ago which is always a fun time, I've been to the U.S. a few times to pick up Cherry Coke and my online shopping addiction has been fed - and of course all of these (not so) epic moments have to be captured and everyone knows that cellphone pictures look better with Valencia or Nashville.

Out of a courtesy to everyone, I left out all of pictures of my cat but one meal shot did slide through. To get the full experience follow me @rosiexwaugh.

before seeing Rihanna with Jessie and Laura / saw Billy Talent live for the third time / the best local coffee shop with the best sidewalk sign

TWENTY-EIGHT/ instagram

I have been so uninspired lately, it's ridiculous. I know it's a pretty lame excuse, but when it gets to -30°C, and sometimes even colder with the windchill, it becomes more and more difficult to get out of bed - let alone make yourself look fabulous. I'm convinced that this new found laziness is what sparked my interest in Instagram. I only got my iPhone a little over a month ago, so I am fairly new to it, but I have to admit that I am full blown addicted right now. It's a little embarrassing .. I really need to put my phone down and pick up my dSLR to snap some outfit pics. I can't help it right now, but I promise you that I will post at least one outfit post within the next week.

Here's a bit of what I've been up to the last month or so, as documented by my Instagram.
